A four-day retreat for men to rediscover who they truly are.

A Men on Fire retreat isn't just another men's retreat. That's the last thing anybody needs. The reason most messages for men ultimately fail is simple: they ignore what is deep and true to a man's heart and try to shape him up through various forms of pressure.

Not this. This event is an honest, no-BS trek into the deep passions and desires of a man's heart, the healing of the wounds he's taken in this battle, the realm of fatherhood and sex and God and calling—life as it was meant to be lived.

For nearly eight years, Men on Fire retreats have been conducted live by our band of brothers and are dedicated to the restoration of the hearts of men through the Wild at Heart message. Through the sessions, times of quiet reflection, movies, adventures and downtime, you will discover something profound about the heart of God and the heart he gave you as a man. Those who come say it is one of the greatest weekends of their entire life.

What is a Boot Camp?

A HCMOF Boot Camp is closely modeled after the Ransomed Heart’s Wild at Heart Boot Camp in Colorado. It is conducted live by the Hill Country Men on Fire team and is designed to lead to the restoration of a man’s God given heart. The weekends are hosted at the beautiful hill country Christian camp Knott Creek Falls and all of the meals are home cooked by like hearted men.

Why is it for me?

We know what it’s like to not be the kind of father, husband, or even the man that we’re supposed to be. We know what it’s like to have frustration and anger and not really be able to explain where it comes from. Attending a Wild at Heart weekend will change all of that. A man just won’t be happy until he has adventure in his work, in his love, and in his spiritual life.

Ask men about the greatest moments in their lives—moments they felt truly alive. They will always tell stories of adventure. That motorcycle trip to Burma, rafting the Colorado, a night on the open sea. That’s why the heart of a man slowly dies when chained to a desk, an assembly line, or a cell phone.

Christianity is not an invitation to be a really nice guy; it is an invitation into a Larger Story in which you play a decisive role.

A Beauty to Love

The beauty of a woman stimulates a man to play the man. The strength of a man, offered tenderly to his woman, allows her to be beautiful. It brings life to her and many. When a man withholds himself from his woman, he leaves her without the life only he can bring.

Back in the beginning of our story, Eve was created from Adam’s side—and none of us have recovered from the surgery. Men are haunted by the Beauty. Where the confusion begins is when we turn to the woman not to offer our strength, but rather looking to her for our validation. Certain disaster follows.

Learning to love the Beauty the way God intended us is not only one of man’s core passions, it sets free some of life’s greatest joys.

A Battle to Fight

God, who is a great warrior, created man in his image. God set within us a warrior heart because he has created us to join him in the war against evil, and if we’re going to find our part in God’s story, if we’re going to be the men that he created us to be, we have to fight for it.
